The Common Data Index (CDI) service gives users a highly detailed insight in the availability and geographical spreading of marine data sets, that are managed by the distributed data centres that are connected to the SeaDataNet infrastructure. At present more than 80 data centres from 35 countries around European seas are connected. The CDI service provides a unique interface for requesting access, and if granted, for downloading data sets from the distributed data centres in a common way. The CDI service has been adopted as discovery and access service in SeaDataNet, Geo-Seas, CaspINFO, Upgrade Black Sea SCENE and several EMODNet projects. More info can be found at:
